Karl Sorgen

Karl Sorgen works as a research assistant in the Center for the Study of Higher Education at Penn State. He is currently involved with the Student-Athlete Climate Study, a nation-wide survey sponsored by the National Collegiate Athletic Association. Karl is a fourth-year Ph.D. student who focuses on studying college students and teaching people in the field of student affairs. His research examines the influence of non-heterosexual identity on psychological, academic, and social outcomes in college students. He values the role the co-curriculum has on a student's development and has a Master's degree in Higher Education Administration from New York University. Karl also earned a Graduate Certificate in College Teaching while assisting with courses in the College Student Affairs program at Penn State.
